Things I'm Loving - Confessions Of An Aqua Lover

I don't know when it started but I love aqua, have for ages.  In fact not just aqua, but all pale blues and blue-greens.  At times the colours remind me of the ocean and holidays, then other times I am captivated by their fun, nostalgic, vintage edge.

Well, as a result of my little colour therapy, I have this pretty pile of fabrics beckoning me, and I don't know what to do with them.  I would love to learn patchwork quilting, so with a few squares I thought I would try making a little quilted journal cover, which looked easy..but then I realised the job would have been so much easier with a rotary cutter.  So at the moment, my cat, Monty is keeping it warm...

Thanks Monty, atleast it's being put to good use!  It's not a difficult project, problem is, I have since become distracted with learning how to crochet..

Ok, I know what you're thinking, this girl really needs to focus, so with a little dedication I promise to get back to that journal cover and have it finished by next week.  Nothing like a deadline!

Do you have a favourite colour that you are drawn to?

Yay for learning how to crochet!! I have been loving aqua more and more lately too, as well as greens. My all time fav colour has to be yellow!

Thanks Kristy, I actually followed the links on your blog to get me started, and have found a whole world of crochet bloggers out there, so exciting, thanks! Also working on the crochet coaster (hey, its practical and cute, really). By the way, can you tell me how I can put your "things I'm loving" button in my posts? I so need blogger for dummies!

I love aqua too, and recently aqua and red together... that top floral is gorgeous. I have bought a crochet hook to attempt a granny square... I too have no focus, just 101 ideas in my head!

Those granny squares look great! Especially if you're just learning how to crochet! I want to learn how to sew... my mother gave me a book on how to make your own softie monsters. Now I just need some fabrics!

(If you still need help with the Things I'm Loving button, just let me know and I can help out!)

Thanks Conny, like your blog too :-)

Thanks for your comment Greta, the fabric on top is from the Fresh Palette range by Carrie Nelson for Henry Glass and CO., seems like there's just enough hours in the day for all this fun stuff!

Thanks Emily, really enjoying the crochet, it feels like I've been doing it longer than I have. I love that I can sit there with hubby and chat and do my craft at the same time. Softie monsters sound great, I'll bet you whip one up in no time, would love to see it when you do :-)
